There are several video editors available on Linux. Projects like PiTiVi OpenShot or have tried to make whole the community of users, but its features and performance are far of projects that could be described as basic platforms, such as iMovie or Windows Movie Maker.

However, the situation could change in the future. NOVACUT is an Open Source video editor , which focuses mainly on content HDSLR digital camera photos and that is geared to more professional productions.

listed in part of the project is based on DMEDI , a component that has long been available (you can find it easily in Launchpad), and for managing a distributed content library video , also using CouchDB for metadata that are stored both in the “cloud” and locally.

The project had long stopped after trying to raise money, and now again Kickstarter page to return to seek donations totaling $ 25,000 that would be allocated to complete the development of project. To date $ 2,258 has been donated by 59 people.
