Iceland are increasing their use of Free Software and Open Source software. In fact, the U.S. government recently launched a project for which all public institutions will migrate to these solutions .
“ The project’s objective is not only public institutions migrate to Free Software and Open Source Software , but to provide a sound basis for this migration to base migration to other plans in other institutions “said Tryggvi Björgvinsson, the leader of this project,
discussed in Opensource.com, where they reveal that examples of this migration are the three most important public institutions in Iceland, all ministries , the city of Reykjavik and National Hospital.
commented the leader of this initiative, “ further that we are making sure our public schools do not restrict the use of Free Software and Open Source Software “. Five of the 32 public schools and have all your systems running Open Source software, and WIN that migration is expected to accelerate in the coming months .
