Research in Motion introduced the figures for the first quarter of fiscal year and made it clear he is going its worst. The Canadian company’s earnings fell by 33 from last quarter, the loss amounted to 518 million and 5 000 workers will lose their jobs.
But amid a bleak outlook Thorsten Heins, CEO of RIM, took a moment to talk about software and hardware. The executive said QWERTY smartphones will not be discontinued and renewed commitment to the models that made Research in Motion in one of the world’s largest corporations.
According to the manager, the models “just touch” and QWERTY BlackBerry 10 hit the market with little time difference between them. Do not forget that the launch of the devices with BB10 was delayed until the first quarter of 2013 , when it was long said would arrive in October this year.
There is still some hope for Research in Motion, although some experts say that the situation of the company and the BlackBerry franchise is irreversible. During the presentation Heins said the corporation will launch a few new devices and will focus exclusively premium segment smartphones.
The CEO of the Canadian company said the intent of RIM is lead the segment QWERTY , and also expressed its agreement with the strength of the line Bold. Do not be surprised if some form of this family survives for the injection of BlackBerry 10.
