Tomorrow Friday, December 13th, SteamOS, Valve operating system based on Linux, will begin its journey. It will do a first beta strong> phase in which the 300 prototypes Steam Machine Steam Controller and many other lucky users of the platform will be distributed finally only in the United States.
not much else to tell. We saw a demonstration of the Steam Controller and the prototype Steam machine itself from Valve, which number will be distributed among the participants in this beta (you can we see a picture of the assembly below).
The rest of us have to settle for a SteamOS image to download though, they warn, “if you’re not an intrepid hacker Linux, we recommend you wait until 2014 to prove it.” So we’ll see what we find.
SteamOS, however, does not seem a priori that it will be something different to Steam Big Picture working on a “gadget” with Linux. But lack a try. Currently, Valve respects its own deadlines. Tomorrow will tell you more.
