minicomputer $ 35 ARM based Linux operating system, Raspberry Pi, receives a novelty that will surely be liked by most who read us. At least, for those interested in this ‘gadget’, of course. NOOBS talked about the new installation system with which will be easier than ever to try the different flavors of GNU / Linux that have been adapted to the apparatus.
NOOBS
is an acronym for ‘ New Out Of Box Software ‘ and basically consists of the installer that you see in the image on these lines. The software installs on any SD card with at least 4 GB of space and do not need internet connection to use. The choice made will automatically install on the free space on the card and it’s only a matter of reboot and use.
As you can see in the header image, in this first version of NOOBS can choose between Debian, Arch Linux, Fedora (pill) and a couple of versions of XBMC media center. But that’s not all.
NOOBSalso includes a method for fast editing of the configuration of the new system, a web browser preinstalled (Arora!) for any information when online and attention because this is the most interesting, a way of command line recovery from a rescue partition that is automatically created.
To learn more about the new features offered NOOBS I recommend the original article, where you have even a video explaining all the details.
